Tackling Plastic Waste in Slum Communities

The “Tackling Plastic Waste in Slum Communities” project addresses the challenges faced by women in slums at the Zambia-Congo DRC border, where gender-based violence, prostitution, drug abuse, and a heightened risk of HIV/AIDS are prevalent due to extreme poverty. Plastic For Change has registered 2100 vulnerable women for training on plastic collection, sorting, and recycling. This initiative aims to empower these women as green entrepreneurs, providing them with a stable income derived from utilizing plastic waste as a resource to combat poverty.
